It is the responsibility of the Engagement Manager to ensure that the Service Governance Plan (SGP) is updated to reflect the service engagement as it evolves and to address process improvements identified or any changing needs of the engagement.
As a result, the Engagement Manager should periodically review the SGP to compare it against both the actual governance processes and procedures used, and the current status of the services. Updates may be required due to the impact of a change or because new information has become available that needs to be reflected in a new version of the SGP.
Since large or complex changes within the Service Engagement may significantly impact the SGP, all required updates to the SGP should be identified. It is important to ensure the SGP is maintained throughout the life of the engagement.
Where updates to the SGP have been identified, these changes will be subject to the processes and procedures defined in the Change Control stream, before they can be applied. This new version of the SGP will be subject to same review, approval, and sign-off practices used when the original document was produced.
